Open Position: Town Clerk

The Town of Somerville is looking for a Town Clerk. This is a permanent part-time position, working 20 hours / week. The position will begin in September, but the applicant must be available for training beginning in July. Primary responsibilities include creating and maintaining town records, issuing licenses, records, and registrations, and running elections. The Town Clerk also serves as administrative assistant to the select board.

This position involves extensive contact with the public and requires the ability to communicate courteously, fairly, and effectively. Municipal experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. Ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
