General Assistance
The Town of Somerville has many resources for its community members. A few ways we try to help is with our own little food pantry on our ramp at the town office, we partner with the Jefferson food pantry, we also have a General Assistance Program.

Notice
The Municipality of Somerville administers a General Assistance program for the support of those in need. Pursuant to Title 22 MSRA §4305, the municipal officers have adopted an ordinance establishing that program. A copy of this ordinance and relevant statutes is available for public inspection.
Persons who wish to apply for General Assistance may do so by contacting the General Assistance Officer, Samantha Peaslee, 24 hour response is available via email at ga@somervillemaine.org and phone response is available at 207-512-0496 with voicemail.
The municipality must issue a written decision regarding eligibility to all applicants within 24 hours of receiving an application. Applications are available at the Town Office upon request or from the GA email.
