What is a Treasurer?

A Treasurer is someone who has to watch over all aspects of financial management, to safeguard the municipalities finances. The Treasurer is the person responsible for general financial planning, budgeting, reporting, banking and disbursement (upon authorization through a signed warrant), book keeping and record keeping. 

Given these responsibilities, the Treasurer typically acts as an information and reference point to clarify financial implications of proposals and outlining the current financial status of the municipality.
